EPIC FAIL

I was keeping half an eye on the Dow Jones today, and suddenly it goes from a steady -250 to -500+. In a straight cliffdive.

Turns out the Bailout failed the House.

Wow.

The weird thing is...the Republicans killed it, not the Democrats.

Meanwhile, the same economists (Roubini, Shedlock) who have been telling us how big the twinkie is, have been virulently opposing this bailout. It leaves me not having ANY idea what to think.

Bush to Pelosi, about the House GOP: "Tell them about the Twinkie..."

they're going to reconvene on Thursday, assuming there's anybody left with credit or money by then.
I got me a shotgun today.

Yeah assuming "shit doesn't go down" between now and then, the Senate will pass it almost unanimously on Wednesday, they'll do a cosmetic fix for the House and re-vote on Thursday, and something will be in place.

It may, though, actually be too late.

What's the password when we get to the armed checkpoint outside your Jersey suburb?
