My Wife is Famous

filed under: Stuff to laugh at

Deep in the recesses of the 80s, Cap'n Crunch cereal did the whole "Missing Cap'n" campaign. The "Crunch Bunch" went in search of him, and there was a video called "Where's the Captain," starring Rick Derringer (oh poor Rick Derringer).

The Vid Kids, who appeared in "Yo Little Brother" by Nolan Thomas, played celebrities who were looking for the Cap'n. Unfortunately, they didn't have the rights to celebrity names or likenesses, so they changed the names - Tina Turner becomes "Trina," Dr. Spock is "Speck," Rambo is "Dambo" (yes, seriously).

Worst of all, perhaps, Madonna is "Piranha."

You know how I know? Because Madonna is my wife.

Oh yes. Oh yes she is.

She was 12 at the time, and joined the Vid Kids after the originals all quit because of the group's shyster management. She comes in at around 2:07, in full Live Aid Madonna gear. Watch and learn.

Anyone who wants to see the VHS of her Live at 5 appearance in character as Madonna: the bidding starts at $20.

Now if you would just post your Today Show appearance as a "Gifted Child", my world would be complete...
