FLIPBOOK!

filed under: Idle Chatter

Now HERE is a site with some serious online time-wasting potential. If you have the patience, and a monklike obsessive compulsive ability to draw the same thing over and over again.

It's an automated flipbook animation program - you draw frames and it'll animate them. It gives you a nice grayscale view of the last frame you drew so that you can replicate or vary it as necessary.

Here's my first magnum opus, entitled "Going Pear Shaped." If you like it, click on the "i" button and give me a good rating.

Amazingly, the whole thing is free, and free of advertising. It'll even store your work and let you email them to people.

If you make one, email me the link to it (rj at procrastinet) and I'll post a link here.

ENJOY.

UPDATE:

I broke down and did another one. Here it is.

UPDATE UPDATE:

I'm addicted. Here's another one. "Huh," I thought, "maybe I'll do another flipbook!" and PRESTO forty minutes of my day were GONE. This stuff is Procrastinetty goodness.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE:

Reader submission from Red091077, entitled "Feeding the Sock Puppet." Nice work, Red! Thank you for joining me in my addiction.

UPDATE x4:

E-Fren sends her wonderfully conceptual "Having a Ball!"

Just here to tell the world that as a child you did flip book after flip book (probably trying to find something to do with your mind during school) and they were always rather wonderful. I remember one about someone whose head fell off somewhere along the line for some reason. But this last one looks familiar from the olden days...

No wonder this activity is so addicting--it was part of your early survival skills!
