So the blogosphere is all in a tizzy about Bush supposedly wearing a wire under his suit jacket, to receive prompts in the debates. Here's a page that has collected all the supposedly incriminating pictures.
What's odd to me is that whatever is under the suit jacket (and yes, it seems pretty damn clear there's SOMETHING under there) is a different shape in each picture. Sometimes it looks like a square something, sometimes it looks like a lasso-shaped something, sometimes it looks like a tube or a ridge.
Here's one where it looks like an extra, off-center spine:

I was all set to totally ignore this issue, and to scorn those who got hung up on it. There's so much real stuff to go after the Administration on (the lying, the war, the voter registration fraud that seems to be fairly rampant and GOP-funded) that rampaging off on something purely speculative and kinda tin-foil-hatty seemed like a bad idea.
Then, the White House weighed in. But they keep changing their story. First, it was that the pictures were photoshopped - until the bulge showed up in the original pictures and the video feed. Now it's supposedly a pull in the jacket from when he puts his arms forward. They say it's not a back brace, not a transceiver and not a bullet proof vest (which seemed most likely to me).
Based on the changing shapes (see the pictures link above) I've got a theory. Remember around the inauguration, when Bush suddenly had seeping bloody sores on his face for no good reason? I was all "Look! His demon face is popping through!" Since then I've suspected that when Bush is under great duress, the demon inside gains the upper hand and starts popping through. As the debates were probably pretty durn stressful, I suspect the bulges under the jacket were just the nefarious little fella gettin' wiggly in there.
My prediction for tonight: Kerry pounds Bush on social/domestic issues, the demon bursts all the way out and jumps on Kerry and eats his face as the sodden husk of its erstwhile host falls in a messy heap on the floor.
